Honeybees
In the morning honeybees did a mark making activity using chalks and chubby markers, all of the children really enjoyed this activity. In the afternoon we took all of the children to tesco to buy some food for a food tasting activity.
Ladybirds
In ladybirds the children did a jelly play activity where they were able to taste the jelly as well as play in it, there was
also another activity set up where the children took part in a mark making activity so they were able to practice their fine motor skills. In the afternoon the children had a picnic in the garden and they were able to play on all the equipment available.
Grasshoppers
In the morning grasshoppers played in the sand and water, played with the cars and garage and also had white boards out. The children rotate in these activities so that they all get a turn to do all of the activities available. In the afternoon the children walked to the local shop to buy the ingredients for a cake, they chose the things that they wanted to put on the cake and paid for the things that they bought.![]()
Caterpillars
In the morning the children listened to the gingerbread man story and watched a short film about it, all the children really enjoyed listening to the story. In the afternoon the children made gingerbread men and discussed with each other about keeping the gingerbread men away from the fox. ![]()
Butterflies
In the morning butterflies went to the reservoir to walk around the forest area, all children got to climb on logs and play in the leaves. In the afternoon children had 4 activities out and they were threading, name writing, cars and garage, and ICT activities on the interactive whiteboard. All children took part in these activities and they were rotated around the key groups.![]()
Dragonflies
There is now a new room called dragonflies and this room is for children that are going to school in September and focus on the things that are needed for school.
Honeybees
In the morning we took Honeybees to the reservoir and fed the ducks, we encouraged the children to throw the
bread into the water. In the afternoon we did some singing using flashcards and the children really enjoyed doing the actions to the songs using the flashcards, the children also went into the sensory room and touched different sensory items.
Ladybirds
Ladybirds helped the children make rice krispies cakes, they helped staff melt the chocolate and mix the bowl with the rice krispies and chocolate in. In the afternoon the children played with Rocco the hamster and got the soft play out so they can explore around their environment.
Grasshoppers
Grasshoppers did a sticking activity in the morning where they used different resources, sand and water were al
so available while the sticking activity was and the children enjoyed having the choice of what they would like to play with. In the afternoon the children did a corn flour activity and got very messy, while a different key group did counting.
Caterpillars
In the morning caterpillars made dens and we had story time in a den and had some sensory flashing lights in the den. In the afternoon the
children were having sandwiches for tea so we got our key groups to make the sandwiches with their key worker, children also built towers with duplo a lot of the children were able to make towers with more than 5 blocks interlocking.
Butterflies
In the morning children played ten pin bowling in their key groups where they took it in turns to throw the ball and try and knock the pins down, other children also made cakes. In the afternoon the children were able to express their emotions and look in the mirror and point to the picture about how they feel. Some other children dressed in the doctors uniform and
pretended that they were taking people to hospital.
Caterpillars and butterflies trip to watch The Gruffalo’s Child
The children went to the town hall to watch the play ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’. The children were asked to tell the gruffalo their names and repeat the things that the gruffalo says, the children really enjoyed watching the Gruffalo play and we also did a display about the Gruffalo at nursery and have got both of the books. ![]()
Honeybees
Honeybees are introducing Christmas to their children by encouraging the children to make Christmas cards for their parents, reindeers, painting and colouring Christmas present and also making Christmas trees and stars. The children will be able to do a wide range of creative activities during Christmas and will get to meet Santa.![]()
Ladybirds
Throughout Christmas ladybirds are making snowmen, presents, Santa, snowflakes and Christmas cards that will be given out to parents, children will be learning what the real meaning of Christmas is by carers reading them a story about Christmas, all of ladybirds will also be meeting Santa.
Grasshoppers
Grasshoppers are encouraging their children to watch a video about the true meaning of Christmas and they will also be making Christmas cards to be sent home to their parents, 2013 calendars, Christmas trees and snowflakes.
Caterpillars
Caterpillars have been making Christmas angels, presents, stockings, Christmas trees and Christmas cards. All of these activities will be sent home to their parents for Christmas.![]()
Butterflies
Butterflies have been decorating a Christmas tree as a room and also making Christmas cards and snowflakes. Caterpillars and Butterflies have also taken part in a nativity and the children get a part and wear costumes.
Honeybees
Monday: The children did a painting activity where they used different kinds of foods that the children are familiar
with to carry this out; they used apples, pasta, porridge, and rice. In the afternoon the children went on a outing to Tesco where they bought jelly, mash potato and angel delight so that they were able to have messy activities throughout the week.
Ladybirds
Tuesday: In the morning Ladybirds had messy play and they all had some play dough and they were given rolling pins and shape cutters; they were able to make the shapes that they wanted. In the afternoon the children were exploring pop up books, and musical instruments with their key workers so if a children is struggling in a specific area their key worker can find this out when they have their key group.
Grasshoppers
Wednesday: In the morning grasshoppers did some cooking and they made cheesecake, when it was cooked the
children got to eat it for snack time. The children really enjoy making something in a group and then getting to eat it. In the afternoon their was a shaving foam activity for half of the group and the other half got to play outside, when both groups had finished they swapped so all the children had a turn on the different things.

Thursday: In the morning children were in their key groups and they did inset boards and mark making. Children really enjoy having a task set out so that they can go and explore with their key worker. In the afternoon we watched a programme about winter and children were encouraged to say whether things were hot or cold and children were asked about the things that they have to wear in the winter.
Butterflies
Friday: In the morning the children went to Morrison’s and the fish monger showed the children an octopus, the children were all amazed by the octopus, the children were also able to try some bread from Morrison’s which they all really enjoyed. In the afternoon some of the children went on a walk around the local area and picked up some of the after school children from a school in the local area. 
Honeybees
Monday: Honeybees did a corn flour activity in the morning and the children did this in the sleep room so that they were able to get messy. Children enjoyed playing in the corn flour and feeling the different textures. In the afternoon the children went to the reservoir where they were able to feed the ducks and explore the local environment.

Ladybirds
Tuesday: In the morning ladybirds children made biscuits in the shapes of teddies and dogs; the children were encouraged to tell carers the noise that the dogs make. In the afternoon children did Jo Jingles where they explore different musical instruments and sing nursery rhymes together.
Grasshoppers
Wednesday: In the morning grasshoppers went to the post office to post their letters, they all had prepared letters
and they made a post box so they could take these to the post office and pretend to post their letters. In the afternoon children were in their key groups and they did a threading activity, sensory activity where they feel the different textures of objects like fake grass, sticks and string.
Caterpillars
Thursday: In the morning we took children on a walk around the local area and they were talking about road safety and the children were singing a song that we had learnt about road safety. In the afternoon the children played on the bikes in the garden and were pretending they were going to the shops with each other.
Butterflies
Friday: Butterflies did some dancing in their key groups and with their key workers, they rotated the different activities set out so they all had a turn. The children did dancing, painting, and outdoor play. The children really enjoy doing key group activities so that it allows them to bond with their key worker.
Honeybees
Monday: This morning the babies took part in a painting activity where they mixed paint using their hands and printed it onto paper. They really enjoyed this because it allowed them to feel the texture of the paint. In the afternoon we took the babies to the reservoir which they really enjoyed, they were able to feed the duck and looking at them.
Tuesday: This morning some babies were playing in jelly and mark making and the others were doing a mark making activity. The other babies were in the sleep room doing a sensory activity using lights and materials. In the afternoon we took the babies to the reservoir exploring the outdoor environment.
Wednesday: Babies took part in activity which they really enjoyed because we used colourful stars and glitter which they explored in a range of ways. In the afternoon Honeybees and Ladybirds went to the reservoir and they got to paddle in the water, they really enjoyed splashing in the water and getting muddy.
Thursday: This morning we did sponge painting for a display, the children enjoyed using different colours. In the afternoon Honeybees and Ladybirds went to the park for a picnic. All children were able to go down slides and swing on the swings with their carers.
Friday: This morning we had free play which the children enjoyed because they were able to choose the toys that interested them. In the afternoon we took the children in the garden and had tea so that they were able to explore the garden area and also have some fresh air.
Ladybirds
Monday: This morning we had table top painting, the children really enjoyed mixing the different coloured paints with their hands. In the afternoon we went to the reservoir, when we got back to nursery we had the soft play out and children were building towers and knocking them down with their key workers.
Tuesday: This morning we did table top painting again because the children really enjoyed it the day before but we added in cars so they were able to put the wheels in the paint and onto paper. We then went in the garden and watered the plants. In the afternoon we went to the reservoir with honeybees and we fed the ducks and splashed in the water.
Wednesday: This morning we did chubby marker activity and the children did this in a group where they all sat around a big piece of paper and all got to dab the markers onto the paper. In the afternoon we took the children to Tesco to show the children how to buy food at the supermarket.
Thursday: This morning we did a group sponge painting activity where the children were able to mix up all of the paint, we then had story time and the children listened to a book before sleep time. In the afternoon we went to the park on the slide, swing, and climbing frame we then had a picnic.
Friday: In the morning we did a creative sticking activity which we used different resources to stick onto card, children liked feeling the different texture of the resources. In the afternoon we took the children to the forest area of the reservoir and they were able to climb, jump, and feel the texture of the grass, trees, and stones.
Grasshoppers
Monday: This morning we did free flow and the children had most of their interest in cars, dolls and the home corner. In the afternoon we went on a local outing to the reservoir to do some running and jumping.
Tuesday: This morning we did paint and pasta activity which allowed the children to feel the different textures of the pasta while in the paint. We also did stamping using the chubby markers and the children were able to mix the different colours, and we also did some planting where the children got to plant their own cress seed and help them grow by watering them every day.
Wednesday: In the morning the children did a mark making activity with different sizes of chalk, in the afternoon the children played in the garden using the slide and the children also enjoy running after each other and tickling each other when they get caught.
Thursday: The children went to Tesco and they got to pick the items off the shelf that they needed, on the way to Tesco they enjoyed looking at the different colour cars. In the afternoon and they enjoyed playing in the home corner in the garden and pushing the pushchairs around the garden. The children then had a picnic in their room which they really enjoyed because it gave them a different environment to eat in.
Friday: The children had free flow in the morning so they got to explore their interests; the children enjoyed playing with cars and with the small world. In the afternoon the children went on a lovely walk around the local area to look at the different shapes they can see around the streets.
Caterpillars
Monday: This morning we did a creative activity for our festivals display board. St Swithin’s Days, children made apples, trees, umbrellas, clouds and rain drops. Children had free play they enjoyed playing in sand, water and in the garden. In the afternoon children played in the garden with basketballs and physical development staff were encouraging the children to take shots in the hoop. The children also had Coach Lee and they enjoyed scoring a goal and getting a stamp.
Tuesday: Children were separated into key groups and they did yoga and painting. Children really enjoyed doing the different movements and found it funny looking at their friends doing them too. In the afternoon we had circle time and we explained to the children who their key worker is and who are in the groups. Children also had a one to one activity learning their phonics.
Wednesday: In the morning the children went to the reservoir and we saw a police van and the police were doing training and the police spoke to the children and they let them watch them jump into the water. The registration board was introduced where children come in every morning and have a caterpillar with their face on and they tell the rest of the group whether they are happy or sad and also what they weather is like on that day. In the afternoon Busy Lissy came in to do some dancing with the children the children really enjoyed this as they got to learn a new dance. We also had ‘gelli baff’ which is mixed with water and feels like jelly, children really liked feeling the texture of this.
Thursday: In the morning we took all the children to Tesco and encouraged the children to pick up the items that we need. In the afternoon we did string painting and string Mache which the children enjoyed feeling the texture of the string.
Friday: Children made cakes and sandwiches in key groups which they really enjoyed eating after. In the afternoon we encouraged children to play games in a group on the computer.
Butterflies
Monday: We went on a walk in our local area to see what we could find; when we got back to nursery we completed an ‘I have seen..’ tally chart to help us create a large scale map to display. In the afternoon we had a Coach Lee session where children played simple ball games afterwards we practiced a busy lissy dance routine.
Tuesday: Charlotte’s key group went to Tesco to do shopping for a cooking activity. The rest of the groups had various activities out including memory games on the smart board, painting, sand and jelly play. In the afternoon Karen’s key group went to the park to use the large climbing and balancing equipment. We played dancing games and with role play resources.
Wednesday: Children painted a large scale map created after our walk in the neighbourhood. They were talking about what they saw while walking. In the afternoon children wrote their labels for their display, children took part in busy lissy dancing routines.
Thursday: All children went out to the reservoir as the weather was nice we played running games using colours red and green for stop and go. As we walked around we saw lots of new baby ducks. In the afternoon charlotte’s key group made banana milkshake for the children to drink at tea time.
Friday: In the morning all children made a healthy snack bar, using pumpkin seeds, raspberries, strawberries etc and the children really enjoyed eating it. In the afternoon the children were doing preparation for their graduation next week.
Honeybees
Monday: This morning the babies took part in a sticking activity which they all really enjoyed feeling the different textures of the materials. In the afternoon some children took part in a mark making activity and they were able to get messy, later in the afternoon we took the babies to the forest area of the reservoir and they were able to explore.
Tuesday: Today the babies played with play dough and they all enjoyed putting it in their mouth which we allowed because it is only flour and water. In the afternoon went to sure start stay and play group where the children had chance to play with other children and explore new activities.
Wednesday: This morning we had messy play with the babies where they had a big roll of paper sellotaped to the floor and they rolled cars and balls through paint to make marks. The babies enjoyed this activity very much as well as the staff. This afternoon we went to the park an had tea.
Thursday: This morning we had water play, children enjoyed themselves, splashing and blowing bubbles. Babies also liked getting wet and making marks on the floor. In the afternoon we took the children back to the forest area because they really enjoyed it.
Friday: This morning we had mark making activity on the floor where all children had fun. In the afternoon we took the children to the garden where they were able to play with the resources nursery had for them.
Ladybirds
Monday: Children had the mixed box of toys which they all enjoyed. They had books and lots of singing the children also had the chance to play on the slide too. In the afternoon the children had music instruments that they played together, after tea we took the children to the reservoir to go to the forest which they really enjoyed. Children had free play for the rest of the afternoon to allow them to explore their interests.
Tuesday: The boys were playing with the cars together and were making the noises of the cars, the girls were playing with the dolls putting them to sleep and pretending to change their nappies. There was also an activity going on with a carer where the children were able to paint shakrs that they had made, they really enjoyed this. In the afternoon half of the children went to surestart with honeybees. The other half stayed at nursery continuing to make the shakers and played with the tea set.
Wednesday: This morning the children loved having physical activity with the soft play and tunnels as this was done by the assigned physical activity planner of the nursery. This afternoon we took the children to the park which they loved, after tea the children did a creative activity totake home to their parents.
Thursday: In the morning we did water play with toy boats in to show the children that toys float and some toys sink. The children really enjoyed this. In the afternoon we took the children back to the reservoir so the children that didn’t get to go could have a chance to go and they really enjoyed being able to explore the environment.
Friday: This morning we did table top painting which gave the children the chance to feel the texture of the paint, we then added sand into the paint and children felt how different it felt after the sand had been added.
Grasshoppers
Monday: we set out sand and water so that they are available to children at all times, children then had a key group activity where they did a painting activity together where they could communicate with the other children and their key worker. In the afternoon we took the children to the park and they had a picnic which they really enjoyed.
Tuesday: In the morning we went to Tesco and on the way there we were counting the steps that we were taking and children were naming the colours of the cars. In the afternoon we had circle time and the children were able to look at the flash cards
Wednesday: This morning we did yoga cards and the children really enjoyed looking at the yoga cards and doing the different movements. When they had done their physical activity we put the children into their key groups and had different activities ready for them. In the afternoon we took the children to the reservoir and put on their wellies and raincoats and they splashed in the puddles.
Thursday: In the morning we had key groups in the room where they could paint, mark make and make a cake. This is rotated round with the key groups so all the children have a go at the different activities. In the afternoon children played in the garden and played with the resources available and then they had free flow where they could explore their interests.
Friday: Children went for a walk around the local area in their key groups and when they got back to nursery they enjoyed playing with cars and wooden blocks. The children were building towers and knocking them over. In the afternoon we took the children to have a picnic so they were able to explore the environment and have some fresh air.
Caterpillars
Monday: The children were separated into key groups and one group did cooking, the other did cutting up the different materials and sticking them onto another piece of paper, and the other group sorted toys into colours. In the afternoon the children went to the reservoir and they encouraged their children to walk the whole way round so they could explore the environment.
Tuesday: In the morning we took the children to the park as they all love playing on the slide, they really enjoyed this as it gave them the chance to run around and get some fresh air. In the afternoon the children wanted to wash the dolls and pretend to change their nappies, the children also enjoyed playing in the role play area and some of the children wanted to play outside, which we encourage.
Wednesday: In the morning the children practised their phonics, we also took the children to the reservoir so that they can practise the obstacle course for sports day. In the afternoon the children cut out gingerbread men and stuck them onto a separate piece of paper.
Thursday: The children went to the church and explored the different areas of the church. On the way back to nursery it was pouring down with rain and the children really enjoyed walking back to nursery in their raincoats.
Friday: the children had jelly play and shaving foam, they really enjoyed feeling the cold jelly in their hands and squeezing it in the shaving foam. Children also did a group colouring activity where they had the choice of whether they wanted to colour with felt tips or chalk. In the afternoon the children had a picnic in the park which they all really enjoyed having tea in a different environment.
Butterflies
Monday: We used yoga cards to show the children the different movements as well as using the cards to make a story so the children found this more stimulating. Today we showed the children the three primary colours and they learnt how to make secondary colours by mixing the primary colours in a paint pallet.
Tuesday: We went on a trip to the reservoir forest to look for bugs underneath logs and stones the children love seeing the different insects. In the afternoon we did circle time where we were talking about home life and the children would tell each other what colours their bedrooms are etc.
Wednesday: We cut out numbers 1 to 10 and put them into the right order sticking them onto the wall so that they are constantly reminded of their numbers. Today we planted peas and talked about what plants need to grow and how long they live.
Thursday: We took the children to Tesco to learn the real life thing by buying food. The children really enjoyed this and they were all pretending to be ‘mummy’s’. In the afternoon half of the children made their own sandwiches for teatime using different sandwich fillers.
Friday: Today we played hospitals and children came into nursery with dolls to our home made hospital, we used real first aid equipment on the dolls and staff. Some children made cakes today using different toppings to put on top of the cake.
Honeybees
Monday: The children did sand play and they really enjoyed this because they were able to get the sand on the floor and it allowed them to feel it in between their toes.
Tuesday: The children did display work and made 3D snake, they used paint, glitter, glue and they really enjoyed the chance to get messy.
Wednesday: The children had foam play and they really enjoyed feeling the texture of the foam. In the afternoon they did body painting and sand play and they really enjoyed doing this because they had the choice of what activity they would like to do. The children then had tea in the garden with toddlers.
Thursday: The children collected leaves from the garden and they did leaf printing and made a leaf collage, children really liked collecting the leaves and then using them to create something.
Friday: The children did body painting with ladybirds they enjoyed this because they were able to play with different children. In the afternoon the carers set out different toys and the children were able to do free flow.
Ladybirds
Monday: The children didn’t seem too interested in the slide activity that the carers had set out, after a bit they started to play on it and they started rolling other things down it like cars and toys. Table top painting the children really enjoyed mixing the paint with their hands. They then did nursery rhymes and the children join in the nursery rhymes and did the actions.
Tuesday: One to one stories which the children liked to pick out the stories that they wanted to read, in the afternoon the children did a creative activity where the children put cars through paint and then put the cars onto paper. The children loved it!
Wednesday: Carer put on music that the children like and the children instantly started moving to the music, they also had shredded paper play in the morning and the children enjoyed throwing shredded paper over each other and making piles of paper and then jumping in it.
Thursday: The children had free flow and they dress the dolls and they were really keen to do this, the children were encouraged to count while walking so they can learn their numbers. In the afternoon the children did a group mark making activity and they enjoyed doing a group activity.
Friday: The children did a messy activity in the morning and they put paint in the tray and were allowed to get into the tray and cover themselves in paint.
Grasshoppers
Monday: In the morning the children enjoyed doing some paper mache with a carer, they used their fine motor skills to hold the glue sticks. In the afternoon children went to the park they liked playing on the swings and slides.
Tuesday: In the morning we took children to the reservoir for a walk, then we found and new park that was ideal for the children. They loved it! In the afternoon the children were decorating the Olympic torches; they were painting the outside and sticking tissue paper in the middle.
Wednesday: The children had free flow; the children were playing outside, with the cars and with the role play in the kitchen. In the afternoon we took all of the children for a walk to the new park and had a picnic the children really enjoyed this!
Thursday: The children enjoyed having children time with new books and new flash cards. In the afternoon the children sat in a circle and got to play with different instruments like the drums and shakers.
Friday: In the morning we had free flow where the children got to play with toys that they are interested in and in the afternoon we did yoga, the children enjoyed learning new moves and doing them as a group and they had outdoor play where they could explore new toys in the garden.
Caterpillars
Monday: Today the children made their own play dough to play with, they did mark making with paint brushes and water. They were also dancing to music as they love to dance!
Tuesday: In the morning we had coach Lee and they really enjoyed being able to run around freely and learn how to play football. In the afternoon the children got messy making mud pies!
Wednesday: On Wednesday we had an outing to a local park where we practiced our events for sports day, children enjoyed this and did really well.
Thursday: In the morning on Thursday we did a cutting, sticking and gluing activity children liked to use many different materials. In the afternoon the children did outdoor play where they were able to run around freely and explore the new toy in the garden.
Friday: In the morning the children did free flow where the children could play with the toys of their interest and they were toys such as balls and musical instruments, In the afternoon the children had sand and water play out and also did body painting. They really enjoyed getting messy!
Butterflies
Monday: In the morning we had circle time and we talked about what we need to d to be safe at nursery and out on the road. In the afternoon our children went for a walk around the reservoir, while we was there we did some fishing and the children got to put their feet in the water.
Tuesday: This morning we went to the park while half of the children were playing in the park and the other half was doing coach Lee they were playing 6 aside football and they loved it! Blue team were the winners in the first half and orange team were the winners in the second half. This afternoon the children did some planting, they planted fruit trees and they asked when they would be able to pick the fruit.
Wednesday: This morning we went to the park but didn’t use the equipment we went to have a trial run on sports day, which they really enjoyed and did well at. In the afternoon we had free play they played with cars and dolls the most.
Thursday: This morning we did dancing with busy lissy using all our body parts and the children got to learn a new dance. This afternoon we learnt Tina’s new listening game, when we hold the ball and sing a song the song is ‘I have the ball and I’m going to tell you something, my name is….. i go to Early days nursery and my key worker is……
Friday: This morning we did sticking using all types of material the children enjoyed this. This afternoon the girls dressed up as their favourite characters and acted out the part in the DVD’s, the boys wanted to play outside.
Honeybees
Monday: The children in honeybees did a one to one sticking activity where all the children got to stick glitter and card onto paper, the children really enjoyed this as it allowed them to feel the different textures of the glitter and the card.
Tuesday: Today the children did a group shaving foam activity in the morning and they were able to get into a tray of shaving foam and feel it all over their bodies. In the afternoon the ambulance came into the nursery for our 999 week and children were able to try hats on and they were able to get into the ambulance and have a look, children really enjoyed this!
Wednesday: Today the police came in and the babies got some stickers and had the chance to sit inside a police van with their key worker.
Thursday: The children had sand out in the morning and they had all different equipment in the sand pit and they were encouraged to fill up the buckets with sand and to then knock it down. Water was then available in the afternoon and children were able to get into the water and make bubbles, children really enjoyed this activity!
Friday: Children went to the reservoir in pushchairs for our MacMillan walk and they really enjoyed seeing the ducks and seeing the people who passed them.
Ladybirds
Monday: Children had a big tray out full of pasta and children were encouraged to get into it, they then put paint onto the pasta to encourage the children to pick up the pasta and feel the texture of it.
Tuesday: In the morning the ambulance came in and ladybirds got into the ambulance and tried on the hats and the visibility jackets. In the afternoon they did a finger painting activity and this encouraged them to have messy hands and to do some messy play.
Wednesday: The children had free play today because we want the children to do the activities that they are interested in and carers get involved to keep the children stimulated.
Thursday: Ladybirds did a group activity with chubby markers and they really enjoyed this because they were able to play together and do an activity together. Children’s particular interests are playing in water and playing with dolls so carers got children to bathe the dolls in the water. The children really enjoyed this and also wanted to dress he dolls after they had bathed them.
Friday: MacMillan walk in the morning children enjoyed seeing the ducks and the other pedestrians, they enjoyed the fresh air and being able to explore. In the afternoon they did a sticking activity that they could take home for their fathers for father’s day.

Monday: We took the children to tesco and they saw one of their friends from the nursery in there and they all said ‘hello’. Children were then allowed to ply freely in the afternoon so they were able to do the activities that they are interested in.
Tuesday: Children enjoyed going inside the ambulance and they got to try hats that the doctors wear and also tried on a visibility jacket. Children then liked to see their carer being lifted into the ambulance on the hospital boards.
Wednesday: The police came in today which the children really liked they got to turn on the sirens and pretend to drive the police van. The police then gave the children stickers and they really liked giving each other the stickers.
Thursday: The fire fighters came in today and children got to turn the hose on and off and climb into the fire engine and sit in the seats that the fire fighters sit in. We then took the children to the park in the afternoon and they played on the swings, slide and roundabout, children had fun because they were able to explore their environment and get fresh air.
Friday: Children walked around the reservoir and they had snack in as a whole nursery and children liked this because they were able to talk to their friends that are older than them. Children are very happy!
Caterpillars
Monday: Caterpillars walked to see where the fire engines home was as the fire engines were coming in for our 999 week, children then did dancing with carers in the afternoon.
Tuesday: Children went to Coach Lee on the tennis court at the park they really enjoy having someone different teaching them football and really enjoy scoring a goal. Children then went in the ambulance and tried on all of the doctors clothes and saw some of the equipment that the doctors use.
Wednesday: On Wednesday the police came in and the children really liked getting into the back of the van and closing the door so they felt as though they were trapped. In the afternoon they did some cooking which they were able to take home for their father’s.
Thursday: Busy Lizzy came into the nursery and she dances with the children and makes up dance routines that they can learn. The fire engine then in and children got the chance to turn the hose pipe on and off, they also got to go in the fire engine and try the hats and jackets on.
Friday: Children went on the MacMillan walk, they enjoyed it as some of the children’s parents came as well and they got to spend the morning with them. In the afternoon they made father’s day cards and got to get their hands messy, they really enjoyed this as they got to feel the textures of the materials they were using.
Butterflies
Monday: In the morning all of the butterflies went to see where the fire engines stayed and then in the afternoon went to see where the police cars stayed. Children enjoyed this and had questions to ask about police and fire fighters.
Tuesday: The ambulance came in today for our 999 week and children got to see some of the equipment that doctors used and they get to try on the clothes that they wear.
Wednesday: Police came in today and butterflies got to talk to the police and ask any questions they wanted, they got into the van and were allowed to turn on the sirens and press the horn. In the afternoon children did physical development at the reservoir.
Thursday: Busy Lizzy came in to do butterflies dance routines and they really enjoy doing this they also get stickers afterwards as a reward. The fire engines then came in and children were allowed to ask the fire fighters questions and try on the clothes that fire fighters wear.
Friday: Children took part in the MacMillan walk they really enjoyed walking around the reservoir with the whole nursery, children did free flow in the afternoon to let them do the activities that they wanted to do.
